SIA Door Supervision (QCF) Level 2

Anyone who would like to work in a private security area must undergo a recognised qualification before going ahead to apply for a licence.

SIA Door Supervision (QCF) Level 2

The course is assessed through 4 multiple-choice examinations and a practical assessment.

The Qualification consists of 4 main modules

Unit 1 – Woking with the Private Security Industry

  • Know the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry
  • Understand legislation as it applies to the individual in carrying out a licensable activity
  • Understand the importance of safe working practices to comply with legal requirements
  • Multiple -choice exam which consists of 60 questions
  • 42 out of 60 is required to pass

Unit 2 – Working as a Door Supervisor

  • Understand the role and objectives of a door supervisor.
  • Understand civil and criminal law relevant to a door supervisor.
  • Understand powers of arrest relevant to a door supervisor.
  • Understand drug-misuse issues and procedures relevant to the role of a door supervisor.
  • Multiple -choice exam which consists of 60 questions
  • 42 out of 60 is required to pass

Unit 3 – Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry

  • Understand the principles of conflict management appropriate to their role
  • Understand how to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations
  • Multiple -choice exam which consists of 35 questions
  • 25 out of 35 is required to pass
  • 42 out of 60 is required to pass

Unit 4 – Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry

  • Understand physical interventions and the implications of their use
  • Understand how to reduce the risk of harm when physical intervention skills are used
  • Be able to use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others
  • Practical assessment during the course by the teacher

Requirements

This course will allow people to work within the Security Industry where they will learn how to undertake Physical restraint / intervention in a safe and competent manner. We will require you to be able to read and write at literacy Level 2.

Reasonable Physical condition is required, please seek full advise on this before booking on this course.

Learners must be aged 18yrs old or over.

Correct ID must be required as per SIA requirements.

Duration of the course

5 days and may require some pre-course reading and evening study.
